William Hill, Polymarket Offer Betting on Trump Serving a Third Term
The platforms mostly agree that, as things stand currently, winning a third term would be an uphill battle for the 47th US president

UK operator William Hill and prediction market Polymarket have launched betting markets on US President Donald Trump serving a third term. While this would require significant changes to the Constitution, the markets offer some tempting payouts, should it happen.
William Hill Believes There Is a Chance
William Hill has become the first bookmaker in the UK to offer bets on Trump continuing on as the US President. The POTUS incumbent is currently serving a second term, which would normally be his last. However, William Hill believes that there might be a chance for constitutional changes that would make another term possible.
The next presidential election is set to take place in 2028 but some platforms are already offering markets on this political race. William Hill, in particular, currently prices Trump bets at 5/1. While these odds don’t make him the favorite to win the election, they still show that William Hill believes there is a respectable chance he would serve another term.
In the meantime, Trump’s Vice President JD Vance stands as the current favorite to win the 2028 race. His odds of winning, according to the British operator, stand at 5/2.
The Trump family is also included in the betting markets, with William Hill offering 9/1 odds on Trump’s son, Donald Trump Junior, winning the election. Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, was likewise included in the betting, with her odds of becoming the next US president standing at 12/1.
Polymarket Users Doubt Trump Serving a Third Term
So, could Donald Trump serve a third term? As things stand currently, it would definitely be an uphill battle for the 47th US president. As mentioned, per the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution, presidents cannot serve more than two terms. However, this isn’t to say that a legal shift cannot change that.
Such a legal shift, however, would require massive efforts. Because of that Polymarket, an American cryptocurrency-based prediction market, is doubtful that a Trump re-election is on the horizon.
The prediction platform also offers bets on Trump’s prospects of serving a third term.
- The “Trump announce run for 3rd term?” market currently gives the POTUS an 8% chance to say he will try to run for a third time.
- The “Will Trump repeal Presidential term limits?” market, on the other hand, believes that there is roughly a 5% chance this would happen.
- Finally, the “Bill allowing Trump 3rd term passes House before June?” market estimates that there is roughly a 3% chance that this would happen.
So, what does Trump himself say? In an earlier address last year, he suggested that he has no plans to run again. However, he jokingly added that he might run again if the public says “He’s so good, we have to figure it out.”
