This exciting slot game offers plenty to keep players engaged, featuring four jackpots, a 96.26% theoretical payout, and flexible betting limits. With wild and scatter symbols adding extra excitement, Frontier Gold Hold & Win unfolds across 25 paylines, ensuring every moment spent navigating the dusty roads of this vibrant town is worth it!
Theme, Storyline, and Graphics: For the Saloon, Try This Way
Well, the story is rather straightforward. Welcome to the Wild West, a place that can be rather unkind if you cross paths with the wrong crowd. Frontier Gold makes sure that you get that feeling out of the first moment.
The action is set in a western frontier town, which is mostly a main street along with some institutions and living accommodations. The town is of course swept by the winds that raise the dust that is constantly streaming throughout. You can see the cartwheels, horseshoes, and other western paraphernalia lying about with a road sign pointing you to the saloon.
The game also features plenty of interesting symbols including a safe, a wild symbol shaped as a sheriff’s badge, the sheriff himself, a bartender, a banker, and the outlaw who has his red bandana around his neck and has already drawn his gun, looking menacingly.
All in all, the game succeeds at evoking the atmosphere in vivid terms that will make the experience doubly worthwhile for you and make it a lot of fun from start to finish.
Frontier Gold Hold and Win Symbols and Payouts:
On to the payouts, then! Frontier Gold slot machine has much to offer. Other than the Hold & Win mechanic which offers you a chance to win one of four jackpots, you can get a lot out of the regular-paying symbols. Players will find themselves going through many different and fun visual elements that can contribute to paying out a generous amount!
The sheriff’s badge is worth $1,400 for five of a kind followed by the safe box which is another $700 for just as many symbols. The banker will add $280 and the bandit type will add another $700. The bartender herself is worth $210 for five of a kind and it seems that the sheriff is the least valuable symbol in the game among the high-payout symbols.
Five sheriffs would only fetch you $140 if you are betting the max $35 for the game. This said, there are also the low-paying symbols, too, including J, Q, K, and A’s, which will help further flesh out the story.
Sounds and Animations: Get Ready, Cowboys
The animations and sounds in Frontier Gold Hold & Win are true to Nucleus Gaming’s signature style of building games that are massively fun and engaging in every sense of the word. Players will enjoy rich graphics and catchy tunes and sound in the backdrop, making sure that they feel like they are walking into a western saloon and enjoying the company of the local cowboys, or even preparing to have a gunfight against an outlaw. The theme is a bit open-ended, meaning that you can imagine yourself in different roles
Frontier Gold Hold & Win Gameplay:
When it comes to its gameplay, Frontier Gold Hold & Win is pretty cut-and-dry. With an average payout of 96.26% and medium volatility, the game offers a nice balance between play and reward. You can set the betting limit at anything between $0.25 and $35, increasing the maximum jackpot you can claim. The game features autoplay which allows you to pre-load any number of rounds, but no more than 1000 in most cases. You can also toggle the turbo play-on for even faster plays. Oh, and did we mention that there is a massive 10257x multiplier?
Frontier Gold Hold & Win Features:
What about the features then? Well, Frontier Gold is a Hold & Win slot, and frankly – this is what the game is built around. The Hold & Win bonus triggers free spins, which are then going to work in a slightly different way than you expect.
The initial free spins are 3. With every new symbol that appears on the reels, 3 more free spins are awarded, until there are no more bonus symbols to show up on the reels or all positions have been filled. If you are playing at $35 per stake, you can expect to gain for each bonus symbol locked the following payouts:
- Mini – $1,750
- Minor – $3,500
- Major – $17,500
- Grand – $35,000
Mind that to trigger the bonus level you need six or more scatter symbols. All in all, the Hold & Win feature is a fantastic addition to the gameplay, and we appreciate it.
Final Thoughts: Cowboy Saga of Your Own Making
Now, truth be told, Frontier Gold Hold & Win is a little anti-climactic. There is not the gunslinging, but a hint of it. The outlaw looks almost nicer than the sheriff himself, and although the graphics are awesome and the max multiplier is eye-watering, we struggled to get into the spirit of things a little. All in all, Frontier Gold Hold & Win is a good game and we do recommend trying it out as a demo right here on our page first.
